Ever wonders why the Glasshouse Mountains are so called? What is the link between a glasshouse and these strange looking peaks that protrude from the low lying bushland and farmed fields?
They are in fact volcanic plugs from extinct volcanos from over 25million years ago. The larva is still left where it cooled and solidified, while everything else has eroded away.
Join us on a full-filled weekend of adventure to find out more. We will be staying in a homely private retreat with 5 separate pavilions.
The retreat is centred around the large open verandahs with comfy couches and long dining table. A plunge pool off the deck will keep you cool, or you may prefer the heated spa hidden in the lush tropical gardens. The rooms with double beds have their own ensuites, private verandahs, fridges, kettle and coffee machines. The quad share rooms are for single adventurers happy to share with up to three others with ensuite bathroom.
All hikes are optional, they range from easy to challenging. This is your opportunity to be introduced to some of the best walking trails in the Glasshouse Mountains region. You’ll be nourished with great locally-sourced produce for wholesome meals. There’s plenty of time to disconnect with technology, engage with like-minded adventurers and get back to nature.
