Responsible Tourism
Our motto and philosophy is Live to Travel: Travel to Give. Each year a proportion of our income is donated to development projects in the communities we visit.
The projects we support promote environmental conservation, education and sustainable economic development. We are very proud of our positive impact on the communities that we visit.
Australian African Children's Aid and Support Association
AACASA provides food, education and health care to orphaned and vulnerable children in Bahar Dar and Debre Tabor. They also offer childcare facilities and training to young single mothers in Godanaw so they can support themselves and their children.

Humanitarian Aid
We encourage travellers to carry humanitarian aid to developing countries.
In 2007 our clients brought around 150 kilograms of aid to Ethiopia including baby formula for the Koala foster home and medical supplies for the fistula hospital.
World Vision
In 2006 Icon Adventures presented World Vision with a $5000 donation to assist two projects in southern Ethiopia. This donation provided more than 500 text books plus tables, chairs, blackboards, globes, maps, maths instruments and sports equipment for seven local schools. In addition, one of the poorest families in Kochore received two milking cows, two sheep, bedding and clothes.
Ethiopian School Desk Project
Icon Adventures provides desks and chairs for some of the most isolated and poorly resourced schools in Ethiopia. These are manufactured in a local workshop in Debark and transported to schools in the Simien Mountains.
This is an ongoing project, your donation of $50 will purchase one desk and bench seat which will seat 3 children.
The Kokoda Track Foundation
The Foundation promotes education, health and sporting initiatives for the communities living along the Kokoda Track.
Icon Adventures recently presented the Foundation with a $1000 donation.
The School of St Jude
The School of St. Jude is a sponsor-supported School in Tanzania that educates orphaned and vulnerable children from the nation’s lowest socio-economic backgrounds.
Icon Adventures supports the school through sponsorship.
Camp Quality Kokoda Trek
This year we will host our first fund raising trek for Camp Quality. This trek will be a major fundraiser for the charity, which supports the families of children diagnosed with cancer. For more information contact Julie Sampson at Julie.Sampson@campquality.org.au
