The Explorers' Route
The Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula
Travel with us to one of the world’s last great wildernesses; Antarctica. This expedition departs from Ushuaia in Southern Argentina on the purpose-built expedition vessel Clipper Adventurer.
En route we explore the Falkland Islands, home to millions of seabirds and mammals and scene of some of humanities greatest struggles for survival.
Icebergs near South Georgia signal our arrival in the Polar realm. Vast penguin colonies sprawl across the lower slopes of towering bergs in a pristinely beautiful landscape. Our visit coincides with the hatching of penguin chicks, and we will have many opportunities to observe these fascinating birds in their icy habitat.
If possible, our expedition will visit a government scientific base for an insight into the complex and unique eco-systems of the Antarctic region.
A highlight will be the spectacular close-up views of icebergs as we Zodiac cruise through this constantly changing world of ice. Watch for whales gathered in this rich feeding ground and marvel at the unforgettable beauty of Antarctica.
